Our Story
Malvern Respiratory and Sleep Physicians started in 2008 at Cabrini Malvern. We are an ethusiastic group committed to providing high quality care for patients with sleep and respiratory issues.
At Cabrini Malvern, we have access to the latest diagnostic techniques including sleep apnoea treatment, occupational lung disease treatment, lung function testing, chest radiology and bronchoscopy. We strive to provide rapid assessments of referred patients and ensure there is a high level of communication with referring doctors.
Our Team
Dr Ryan Hoy
Dr Ryan Hoy is a Respiratory and Sleep Disorders physician with a medical degree from the University of Melbourne. Ryan undertook specialist training in respiratory and sleep medicine in Victoria.
In 2008, Ryan completed a fellowship in Occupational Lung Diseases in Toronto, Canada. As well as a Master's degree of Occupational and Environmental Health at Monash University, Ryan has ongoing involvement in research and teaching in the field of occupational lung disease at Monash.

Dr Hari Wimaleswaran
Dr Hari Wimaleswaran is an experienced respiratory and sleep medicine physician with a special interest in the areas of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, pulmonary fibrosis, bronchoscopy, lung cancer and bronchiectasis. He also manages patients with non-invasive ventilation requirements and sleep disorders including obstructive sleep apnoea and insomnia.
Hari is also accredited and experienced in both fibreoptic and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) bronchoscopy, as well as pleural procedures holding an additional qualification (CCPU) with the Australasian Society for Ultrasound in Medicine (ASUM).
Hari underwent his physician training at the Royal Melbourne Hospital and his respiratory and sleep medicine training at Monash Health and Austin Health. He holds both public and private hospital positions and is involved in many research areas including lung cancer, bronchoscopy, silicosis and COVID-19.

Dr Caroline Kronborg
Dr Caroline Kronborg is a respiratory and sleep disorders physician, specialising in the assessment and management of all sleep-related complaints, following a clinical fellowship in Sleep Medicine.
Caroline's interests include, but are not limited to, snoring, sleep apnoea, insomnia, disorders of hypersomnolence and other complex non-respiratory sleep disorders.
Caroline enjoys caring for patients with general respiratory conditions including breathlessness, chronic cough, asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Dr Shaun Yo
Dr Shaun Yo is the clinical lead of the pulmonary hypertension (PH) service at the Alfred Hospital and co-chair of the lung cancer multidisciplinary team at Monash Health. His interests also include the management of lung nodules, asthma, sleep apnoea and other sleep disorders. He is experienced in bronchoscopy and endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) and performs these procedures regularly at Monash Health and Cabrini Hospital. Shaun graduated dux of Monash University, attained the highest score in the Royal Australasian College of Physicians examination, completed a fellowship in PH at Toronto General Hospital on a scholarship, and graduated with a Masters from Harvard University. Shaun is active in research and has been the principal investigator on a number of multicentre clinical trials. He is an executive member of the Victorian chapter of the Thoracic Society of Australia and New Zealand.
